Heart Health Awareness

Eating clean has a deeper meaning to my family because of Diego’s congenital heart defects.  It is vital that individuals with a CHD learn about a healthy lifestyle in order to preserve the overall function of their heart.  Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States.  I am committed to do what I can to prevent my family from being a part of that statistic.  Limiting our consumption of sugar, fat, and salt is a great place to start.  Eating real food that has not been refined or processed provides your body with the nutrients it needs to function properly.

February is Heart Health Awareness Month.  Diego’s school participates in the Jump Rope for Heart Program each year.  Diego has been working to educate others on living a healthy lifestyle and supporting the American Heart Association.

I strongly encourage you to live a clean eating lifestyle and jump for your heart!
